My name is Samantha “Sammy” Cho and I am the current president of the Epsilon Delta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Creighton University! I would have never imagined such an opportunity for myself, and for that I am so grateful to be able to represent an organization that motivates its members through its values, sisterhood, and philanthropy. It’s true that here at Gamma Phi Beta, we are constantly inspiring the highest type of womanhood.
The women of this chapter have historically and continue to make a profound impact on and off Creighton’s campus through continuous involvement and success in academics, leadership positions, and other notable achievements and opportunities. It’s the common ground we share through our values -- love, labor, learning, and loyalty – that keeps us rooted in our mission and purpose as Gamma Phi’s. Our values shine through in our sisters’ dedication, support, hard work, and genuine sisterhood in our day-to-day lives and in our chapter.
We are fortunate enough to hold and attend events to support our philanthropy, Girls On The Run, an empowering organization with the mission to build strong girls. However, our philanthropy is more than raising money. It’s how our philanthropic mission is exemplified in the way the women of this chapter carry themselves and are role models to fellow sisters and women everywhere. It’s truly special and unique in the way our philanthropy can (and should) be lived out on a daily basis!
Quite frankly, words cannot describe how Gamma Phi has helped me to grow and develop into the strong, capable woman I am today (and I know I’m not the only one to attest to this). The authenticity and encouragement I felt in the recruitment room as a freshman potential new member has forever been instilled in me and challenged me to become (and continue to become) the best version of myself. The enriching experiences Gamma Phi’s receive from this sorority cultivate lifelong personal development, commitment, and sisterhood. As president, I strive to continue to foster the legacy of Gamma Phi that’s been left for all 175 women of Epsilon Delta.
Thank you for taking the time to see for yourself what Gamma Phi Beta is all about! Whether you are an alumna, member of the Creighton community, or visitor, please feel free to explore our website to see why Gamma Phi Beta means so much to me and my sisters.
Love in IIKE,
